Artwork
Guidelines
Best practice artwork guidelines are listed below to ensure that the proofing process of your artwork is efficient and your artwork prints with the best quality possible.
templates

Graphics designed using the templates provided on our website

Templates for each of our displays can be located on their respective product pages. These templates can be accessed through a dropdown menu labeled "Download Graphic Template(s)." When selected, the templates will open in your browser by default. To save the template(s) to your local drive, please click the download icon situated in the top-right corner of the browser window.

120 DPI

All artwork is at least 72 DPI when placed on a full scale template

The resolution of images incorporated into our templates should range between a minimum of 72 DPI and a maximum of 150 DPI. To ensure compatibility with the maximum canvas size of Photoshop and Illustrator, some of our templates have been designed at half scale. For these half-scale templates, please increase the resolution to a minimum of 200 DPI. To verify the resolution of your embedded images, we recommend zooming into your artwork at 100% magnification.

within

Critical information is within the designated area outlined on our templates

When using our templates, we recommend that the DPI of your images be between 72 DPI and 150 DPI. Please note that some of our templates have been created at half scale in order to be compatible with the maximum canvas size of Photoshop and Illustrator. For templates designed at half scale, we recommend doubling the DPI to a minimum of 200 DPI. To ensure that the DPI of your embedded images is correct, we suggest zooming in to your artwork at 100%.

full size

Background artwork is extended to the full size of the document for bleed

Most of our templates include bleed. To ensure that your artwork has the appropriate bleed, the intended graphic elements that you want to bleed should fill the entire document or artboard. Please note that extra bleed or crop marks are unnecessary.

Pantone

All artwork is setup using CMYK colors

All of our display graphics are printed using the CMYK color process. RGB, HEX, and Pantone colors will be converted to CMYK. We'll do our best to color match to your branding colors, but if critical color matching is a concern we recommend a hard proof or a consultation with your assigned designer to discuss color matching options.

Text

All text has been converted to outlines

One of the final steps when preparing your artwork is to save a version of your design with the fonts converted to outlines. This eliminates the need for you to provide us with the fonts that you incorporated into your design. Please note that fonts that have been converted to outlines can no longer be edited via the text tool.

Embed

All images embedded and not linked

Embedding images versus linking them allows you to upload one complete print ready file to us. (This is a common process for when you are  providing Adobe Illustrator files and sometimes Adobe Indesign files).

File Type

Final artwork provided as a high resolution PDF, Ai, or PSD file

We prefer final artwork to be sent in PDF, Ai, EPS or a PSD file, although we do accept high resolution image files, as well as Adobe Indesign. Please note that Indesign files require that you also send the linked elements. Please also note that modifications to Flattened PSD files and Image formats such as JPEG, PNG, and TIFF are very limited. At this time we don't accept Canva files.
